We are content people. Our careers began in publishing, computer science, design and user experience. For decades, we have focused on the connections between audience and information. Engaging users. Sharing knowledge. Building trust. It’s our life’s work, and we’re proud to share it with our customers.

Our mission is to help you fulfill yours.

Our Team

  • David Durand, PhD

David is the visionary behind the Tizra content delivery platform. Part software architect, part engineer, part computer scientist, his PhD work focused on document engineering and collaborative editing, and he subsequently taught at Brown. He’s worked with markup languages and hypertext since 1984, contributing to standards including XML and TEI. When not coding, he tinkers with vintage electronics and sings with Providence’s Quahog Quire.

  • Abe Dane

Abe is responsible for keeping Tizra’s team and technology pulling together to serve our customers. His background is in consumer publishing, including stints at Popular Mechanics, Hearst New Media and MIT. His byline is on dozens of national magazine articles, and since 1994, he has contributed to a string of successful web projects. He loves barbecue more than may be healthy and on weekends can be found hanging out at his wife’s neighborhood kitchen store.

  • Lisa Russo

As Chief Design Officer, Lisa is responsible for spreading the joy of good software. Her gifts as a graphic designer, combined with strategic marketing skills, help her get the word out, and keep new customers coming in. And once they’re in, she helps ensure their success with educational programming including the Tizra User Conference. When it’s time to chill she creates supersized abstract paintings and tries to win doubles matches.

  • Amy Griffis

Amy is a web designer and developer. Her knack for understanding user needs and translating them into intuitive interfaces has made Tizra easier and more fun to use in countless ways, including improved mobile search, reading and navigation.

  • Aron Griffis

Aron is a full-stack web developer who builds light, fast, reliable and secure applications that are the foundation of great user experiences. He is a prolific open source contributor, and his background in kernel virtualization and security lends unusual discipline to his work.

  • Mike Swierczek

Mike has been a technical lead for small software teams for more than fifteen years and writing software professionally for longer. His work has enhanced psychological health monitoring for patients in substance abuse rehab, and he's worked on a range from sales kiosks to international air freight analytics. He views learning new programming languages like preschoolers view opening presents on their birthday. When he's not working he's busy exploring vegan cooking, reading science fiction, and desperately trying to keep up with four kids.
